2005 Special Events

New Years Eve 2005

This year’s New Year’s Eve service was full of fun and surprises. We had guest appearances by Johnny Cash, Sonny & Cher, our own Lively Hearts and a special unprecedented visit from the King himself - Elvis!!! It was an awesome evening of worship with updates from the pastoral staff at Ocean Hills Church.

Peace officers and Fire Fighters Fellowship Toy Run 2005

The Peace officers and Fire Fighters Fellowship Toy run recently started at our Church in Ocean Hills. The run was designed to provide children in the underprivileged Capistrano area with Christmas presents.Over 75 mainly Harley Davidson Motorcycles left the church in convoy with a police Hummer and traffic cops supporting the ride through Capistrano. As the ride entered the housing areas where the presents were to be distributed the Police sirens were switched on;  out came over 500 mainly women and children in each area.

The Children received candies and presents as well as getting to know the bikers /police and fire men.The faces on the Children were so happy as the presents were given out.Silence fell as Pastor Skip prayed along with the Hispanic Pastor praying in Spanish.The people cheered at the end of the prayer.As the run moved to a second community once again the people welcomed the church with open arms.The folks were genuinely happy to see the toy run.It is hoped that a summer run could be organised to carry on this fantastic event once again during the summer as well as at Christmas time.

This was a fantastic project which allowed the real Love of God to be shared in a practical way,whilst the Church connected to the community...............good job,well done to all concerned!

Baptism Photos 2005
WOW!!! What an unbelievable turnout for this very special day. We had from young to old (84yrs old to be exact!) PRAISE GOD. Enjoy these photos and remember to pray for those that were baptised.

Israel Trip Of A Lifetime
This year's trip to Israel was truly the trip of a lifetime. We had a total of 12 buses (all named after one of the tribes of Israel) with approximately 600 people!!! Teachings by Pastor Skip, Pastor Chuck Smith and Pastor Bob Botsford were highlights and the times of worship were truly memorable. Hopefully this will wet your appetite for the next Israel trip!!!!

Baptism Photos
What an incredible day we had, at Doheny Beach, as we witnessed testimony to Jesus Christ and a public proclamation of new brothers and sisters to our Lord. Take a few moments to view their photos and pray for those that publicly demonstrated Christ as Lord of their life.

Harvest Festival
We had over 1500 people attend this awesome outreach to the community. People of all ages had an opportunity to come and fellowship with us here at Ocean Hills. Take a few moments to view some of the photos from this once a year event!
