Pastor
The officiating pastor will require a time of counseling
where he will go over with you the meaning of the wedding
service. Marriage vows are taken with the understanding that
God is entering the marriage as a third party. Set an appointment
with the pastor by contacting the church office. Marriage
mentoring is required at least three months or sooner in advance
of the wedding. The Coordinator will give you a name and phone
number of the mentoring couple. It will be up to you to contact
them.
Wedding Coordinator
The Wedding Coordinator
will coordinate the details at our church and will assist
you and answer any questions prior to your wedding. In order
for your wedding to flow smoothly, she will designate a wedding
hostess who will be there at your rehearsal and wedding day.
Wedding and Rehearsal Dates
The wedding and rehearsal dates will be placed on the
master calendar when a non-refundable deposit is received
and accompanied by a wedding application and signed contract.
Contact the Wedding Coordinator for the fee schedule.
The Rehearsal
This is the opportunity to review the mechanics involved
in the service itself. It can be an enormously important part
of the preparation to insure that all plans run smoothly on
the day of the wedding.
Please arrive promptly, even early! In about an hour, the
entire wedding party can “walk through” the service
and prepare for the joy of the wedding celebration.
Music
Setting the mood
for this ceremony can be done beautifully through the careful
selection of your music. If you need the services of a pianist
or vocalist from our church, the Wedding Coordinator will
help you.
Flowers
Flowers should be selected to beautify the sanctuary. Please
share your design ideas with the Wedding Coordinator for approval
at least one month prior to your wedding date.
Wedding Equipment
Included in the fee are two seven-branch candelabras, a
unity candelabra, six pair of aisle candelabras (the candles
are provided), kneeling bench, communion table, silver cup
and dish, wicker flower baskets, pedestals and flower urns
available for your use.
Photography/Videography
In keeping with the sacred nature of the wedding service,
no flashbulbs may be used during the ceremony. No walking
or moving on the stage during the ceremony is allowed for
photographers or for videographers. In general, they should
remain inconspicuous.
The Wedding Day
The bride and her attendants should arrive two hours ahead
to allow time to dress before pictures begin. Please arrange
to have hair and makeup done before arriving at the church.
A wedding should start on time.
The groom, best man, and ushers should arrive dressed, a
minimum of forty five minutes before the wedding begins, depending
upon the photography schedule.
The ushers will begin their duties approximately thirty minutes
before the ceremony. Please designate ahead of time, a person
to take down decorations and to collect the gifts brought
to the church.
