"24Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

INTRODUCTION:

A. 100 countries, 7 million total boxes

B. Every family has been asked to pray for the child that will receive the box

C. Collected through the churches, to tell children about Jesus Christ

D. We are living in a difficult time in the history of this nation. We are faced with four wars

I. Terrorism (fundamentalist Islam)

A. When will it be over?

B. Will we win?

II. HIV/AIDs

A. Over 42 million people are infected and are without hope or a cure?

B. Estimated in could be over 100 million in the next three ears

C. Billions are being put into this war to win it.

D. Yet there is no cure

III. Culture

A. We saw this in the last Super Bowl as well as the last election

B. We see it on television

IV. Souls of Men

A. Your soul and spirit are eternal but your soul is lost to sin

B. Sin has separated us from God

C. We can not stand before God in the presence of sin.

D. It is by grace through faith that we have been saved

E. All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and are therefore separated

F. What is sin?

G. How have we sinned?

H. What has God done for us?

I. What must we do to be saved?

APPLICATION:

1. Recognize your need for a Savior

2. Confess your sin

3. Trust in Christ and believe on the name of Christ as Savior

4. Turn from your sin

5. Allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life as you are a new creation in Christ Jesus.
