INTRODUCTION:

C. Jeremiah speaks about Disobedience of Children & The Problem of Evil in the world in these chapters.

D. Deliverance, Disobedienced, Disaster

1. God reviews their history with them,

2. You have been on a tailspin of disobedience over the years

3. Know you will have disaster come upon you

E. What does the covenant refer to in these verses? Why is this important to understand? (hint - Chapter 31)

F. What do the first 2 commandments deal with?

G. Who was on the throne in Judah at this time and why is he noteworthy?

H. Who followed him and what did he do?

I. Do we need a reformation or a transformation today? What about in your life personally?

I. Chapter 11

A. Remember when Deuteronomy was found by Hilkiah and read in King Josiah's time. What happened? (Read 2 Kings 21)

B. Why did God ask Jeremiah to review Deuternomy 28-29?

C. What was significant of these chapters?

D. What is the significance of "a land flowing with milk and honey"? (Exodus 3:8)? Why is this interesting?

E. Have you ever seen a "worried bird before?"

F. What do birds do? The sing and are joyous yet they work diligently working cooperatively wit hthe creator with His productivity that is around us. We too need to trust him and work hard and cooperate with His blessing.

G. Notice how Jeremiah answered God. "Amen"

H. How different is Jeremiah's response to Jonah's response or to Peter's response to the vision in Joppa to eat the "non-kosher" food.

I. Hear the Words and Do Them (v 6) Listening to truth won't do you much good with out applying them to your life.

K. How will you apply what you have learned so far to your life?

L. How do you listen to truth; Actively or Passively?

M. God gave His revelation but people turned to imagination. This is the beginning of idolatry.

N. Are y ou dealing with revelation or imagination in your life? What is the Holy Spirit speaking to you about?

O. God is saying that he wouldn't deliver them and that the false gods couldn't deliver them? Are there any false gods in your life?

P. What was the "shameful thing" and who was Baal?

Q. Psalm 122:3 Jerusalem, this is built as a city that is compact together

R. "So do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them" This is one of three times that God told this to Jeremiah. Think about how sad this is and what the implications are for these people.

S. Describe how verse 15 speaks toward judgement and discuss the imagery in Jeremiah 11:15-16.

T. Why were olives used as a sign of properity and who was it a symbol of?

U. The Confessions of Jeremiah (Jeremiah 11:17-23)

1. What was the "it" the Jeremiah was speaking about?

2. Why is this section a "type of Christ"?

V. What does "mind" and "heart" mean in Hebrew? What was the idea behind this meaning?

APPLICATION:

1. Review Deuternomy 28-29

2. How can you become more of a doer of the Word rather than a hearer

3. If you have been passively listening to God ask Him to enable you to become an active listener.

"Thus says the LORD God of Israel: "Cursed is the man who does not obey the words of this covenant 4which I commanded your fathers in the day I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, "Obey My voice, and do according to all that I command you; so shall you be My people, and I will be your God,' 5that I may establish the oath which I have sworn to your fathers, to give them "a land flowing with milk and honey,' as it is this day.""
