What is wormwood and how is it being used as a metaphor here?
Describe the process of wailing and why it was done. What was the significance. Why has God spoken and told them to call on them?
Minds, Money, Might
Chapter 10
1-5 Constant danger of becoming like what's around us. Don't learn the way of the gentiles rather do Romans 12:1-2
Are you a thermometer or a thermostat? Do you register or regulate the environment you are in?
Contrasting the absurdity of worshipping false man-made gods with the God of the universe.
man is creating something in his own image compared to God creating man in His image
Principle - whatever you worship is what you become like compare Psalm 115:2-8 vs Jeremiah 10:11
The point is very important and is still valid today. When you look at the universe and the earth it ought to point people to God. Design speaks of a designer. The conclusion ought to be that we can trust God since He can hold everything else together he can certainly hold my life together.
What does dull-hearted mean and how was it used? What is the implication for this passage?
APPLICATION:
Seek to permeate the world around you to become change agents or thermostats and not seek to flee but rather to lead others on the right path not directing our own selves but to trust you and to go from glory to glory, from strength to strength, and faith to faith. Make us bold and motivated to press on with the gospel message to a lost world.
MEMORY VERSE - Jeremiah 9:23-24
23Thus says the LORD:
"Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;
24But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me,
That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight," says the LORD.
Jeremiah 10:23 -24 O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself, It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. 24 O Lord, correct me, but with justice; Not in Your anger, lest You bring me to nothing.
